ECONOMY PURE STOCK CLASS RULES

Any car owner, driver or crew member will be disqualified for the night and possibly from the series if involved with any fighting or verbal abuse of anyone. We are guests at this racetrack and must maintain peace and respect for all individuals at the racetrack.
These rules are for Leaf Spring cars of any manufacturer, make and model.

BODY:

  • Car bodies must remain stock appearing for the year, make, and model of the car.
  • No rub rails are allowed.
  • Stock floor pan and firewall must be stock and in the stock location.
  • Driver’s compartment must remain as open as possible.
  • Car must weigh 3300 pounds after the race. Add 50 pounds for Floater rear end.
  • Spoilers must be stock only for year of the car, with nothing homemade.
  • Full roll cage is highly recommended.
  • Five piece safety belts are required.
  • Working fire extinguisher is required.
  • Safety window net is highly recommended.
  • Front and rear tow chains are required.
  • Carburetor air filter must remain under the hood. Hood scoops are allowed but not over 3 ½ inches high.

SUSPENSION:

  • Front spring can be racing springs.
  • Spring cups are allowed.
  • Front spring pockets must be closed just like a stock clip. (No open spring pockets.)
  • No wedge bolts (Front or rear).
  • Rear springs can be racing springs and adjustable rear spring hangers, with no sliders.
  • Non-adjustable type lowering blocks only.
  • All must stay in stock location only.
  • Upper control arms can be tube type but must measure the same as stock upper control arms.
  • Stock shocks only, in stock location. No racing shocks.
  • Lower A-frame can be replaced with a tube type A-frame. (The tube type A-frame must measure the same as stock lower A-frame.
  • Frame rails can be replaced or repaired using 2/3 tubing because of rusted out or wrecked parts. Must stay in stock location.
  • Brake pedal must be in stock location only but can be dual master cylinders.
  • Can have all disc brakes
  • Can have a stock rear end GM or stock Ford 9” rear end. Can be locked, welded or with spool.
  • Add 50 pounds for floater rear ends. No lightweight parts. Axle must be solid.
  • 8” steel wheels and B-locks are allowed.
  • Hoosier 500 tires only.
  • Transmission can be 3 or 4 speeds only.
  • No racing transmissions.
  • No automatic transmissions.
  • Corvette nodular type flywheel and pressure plate assembly allowed.
  • No racing clutches.
  • No aluminum flywheels.
  • Starter must be in stock location only.
  • If you are utilizing a sway bars, must be stock only. (No aftermarket allowed.)
  • Lug nuts must be one inch.
  • Rear engine mid-plates are allowed.
  • The drive shaft must be painted white.
  • Drive shaft loops are required.
  • Stock type rear spoilers for the year of the car can be used. No home made or aftermarket.
  • Fuel cell is mandatory.
  • Stock exhaust manifolds or headers must be within the frame rails.
  • Battery must be in the trunk of the car.

ENGINE:

  • No 602’s motors.
  • The 350 engine can be 60 over 1 piece seal or 2 piece rear seal.
  • No high-performance engine parts allowed.
  • Valve covers can be aftermarket.
  • Timing chain can be double roller. Must be stock replacement.
  • Cam shaft can be degreed from the crank shaft or from the cam shaft.
  • Can have either advanced timing at the crank or camshaft.
  • Stock type flat top 4 eyebrow cast piston and or stock replacement 4 eyebrow forged pistons.
  • Carburetors are quadrajet or 1850 Holleys that are unaltered with a single gas feed.
  • Zero deck allowed.
  • Stock rods and stock crank shaft only. (No aftermarket)
  • Open chamber heads only, 70 ccs. No vortex or aftermarket heads.
  • Stock push rods only.
  • No port or polishing at all on heads or blocks.
  • 3/8 studs in head’s can be screw in or pinned.
  • Stock rocker 1:5 stock rocker nuts and rocker arm balls.
  • 1.50 – 1.94 Valve size. No oversized valves.
  • Must be hydraulic CAM only, maximum 425/425. Can use anti-pump up lifters.
  • The front engine pulleys can be after market.
  • The steering pump can be after market.
  • The water pump can be after market.
  • Cast iron Intake 4-barrel must be stock GM.
  • No bow tie intakes allowed.
  • No aftermarket intakes allowed.
  • Distributors HEI only. May be locked.
  • NO MSD.
  • Plug wires may be aftermarket.

ENGINE PROTESTS RULES:

  • Protests are only for complete engine only.
  • $500 for a complete engine tear down (cash only).
  • Costs are responsibility of protesting party.
  • The Protest must occur within 15 minutes after the completion of the race.
  • The winner of the race can only be protested by the second-place car.
